Living Area
First thing you’ll notice is the decor! Jayco has jazzed it up, and it feels light, fresh, and just downright cozy. And remember those old farmhouse cabinets that sometimes looked a tad grubby? Not anymore! They’re all cleaned up with a more modern spin.
Now, here’s that new feature I mentioned earlier: Jayco’s finally given in and added a fireplace to the Jay Feather 27BHB.
Can you picture yourself in the great outdoors lounging on that comfy tri-fold sofa, with the fireplace “crackling” away? It’s the perfect vacation, right?
Maybe you’re more of a warm-weather RVer, if that’s the case, there’s also a beast of an AC system and vent fans to keep you cool.
Kitchen
Alright, foodies, this kitchen’s fridge is for you. They’ve gone with a 25% bigger size, and the door can be changed to swing left or right (fancy, huh?).
The countertop is large with enough prep space to easily make your meals. If you need to plug in a blender or charge your phone. Well, this pop-up power tower has you covered. And what’s better? You don’t have to plug your phone in because it doubles as a wireless phone charger pad.
Beyond its basic role as a dining space, the dinette was made to do so much more. You’ve got storage doors underneath which, trust me, come in handy when you’ve got kitchen gadgets and bits and bobs to store.
Oh, and speaking of seating, have you noticed that quirky little spot next to the dinette? It doubles as another nook for storage or just another seat when you have friends over.
Bathroom Features
One of the standout features is the bathroom, which offers a locking door for added privacy. The decorative “Message in a Bottle” you see is used as a doorstop to prevent the door from swinging shut. While you might not prefer this method for keeping the door open, it might get those creative juices going.
The toilet area is spacious to accommodate users of all sizes. Taller individuals might find the headroom in the shower a little tight because of the smaller skylight.
Still, the bathroom’s overall functionality makes up for this minor drawback.
Bunks & Bedroom Features
Before moving into the bedroom itself, it’s worth mentioning the set of bunks just outside of the bathroom. They have separate curtains for the upper and lower beds, which is a detail that new RV owners might not think of, but comes in handy. The curtains also offer blackout privacy, making it easier to catch an afternoon map.
On either side of the bed, there are powered nightstands that can keep your devices charged.
The bed comes standard as a camp queen bed, but there’s space to put in a full queen bed. Just keep in mind, if you do go that route, you’ll most likely have to climb over it to get around the room.
An interesting thing about the under-the-bed storage is the dresser drawers inside of it that slide in and out.
Road Mode: Towing and Travel Access
Traveling in Road Mode with the Jay Feather 27BHB is extremely convenient because you can access the bedroom, the fridge (and open it too), as well as the bathroom while the slides are closed.
Moving end to end will require some side scooting but the fact that you can get through makes those on-the-road grocery and bathroom stops so much easier!
It’s recommended to have at least a ¾ ton towing capacity for this RV, so you’re going to want to make sure that your vehicle will be able to handle the tow in heavy winds and steep inclines.

Potential Problems
- Bed Size: The RV comes with a Camp Queen, but there’s space for a true Queen. However, using a True Queen might make it cramped and potentially require climbing over the bed.
- Even though the RV is described as having a 6’ 8” interior height, the shower is closer to 6’6” tall.
