S’mores Pop Pie Recipe

One of the definite perks of camping in the outdoors is the adventure of cooking over an open fire. The most desired factor is that fire roasted, coal smoked taste can not be acquired by no other place other than over that cozy campfire of yours.  The meal options are endless; hot dogs, hamburgers, foil dinners, & the ever so famous graham cracker, chocolate, marshmallow sandwich.

The S’more has been revised and updated over the years to make it taste better or to make it less clean up or less items to pack. But we’re here to share with you a S’more inspired recipe that can be made before your camping trip and ready when you need them! These are called the S’more Pop Pie!

To make these delicious pre-made camping desserts, follow this recipe!

Ingredients:

Hershey’s Milk Chocolate bars

Kraft Jet-Puffed mini marshmallows

Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crust

Items:

Popsicle sticks or cake pop sticks

Fork

Instructions:Roll out the pie crust very thinly & cut the pie crust down to rectangles that will extend out a half inch on each side from 3 squares of Hershey’s Chocolate. (About 2.5 x3.5 inch rectangles) Cut out as many as you might need. You will use 2 rectangles for each S’more Pop Pie. Once the dough is rolled out, place the 3 sections of Hershey’s Chocolate bar on top of the dough. Then place a small bunch of about 10 marshmallows on top of the chocolate. Next, place your sticks in the middle of the chocolate and marshmallows leaving enough excess length to hold your hot pop pie when cooked. Take another layer of your pie crust to put on top of your marshmallows & chocolate. Then fold the two edges of pie crust, turning the edges in toward the center of the pop pie. Finally to finish the assembly, take a fork and press the fork ends into the dough to seal the edges. Once you have done that you have a S’more Pop Pie ready to be cooked. There a few ways to cook these treats. You can either cook them in a pie iron, a grilling basket, a cast iron skillet, or griddle. If you use the pie iron or grilling basket you do not need to place sticks within the pops. Because all campfires differ, cook your S’more Pop until golden brown & crispy or for about 10-15 mins. Set aside 5 minutes to cool. Enjoy your oooey gooey crispy camping treat!

*Cooking Tips: Do not cook the sticks directly over open flame as they will burn your entire dessert.
